The key to Extreme Pita’s ongoing success has been its people. Co-founders and owners Alex and Mark Rechichi have added an energetic, seasoned group of food service professionals. With over 275 locations across Canada and the U.S. and plans for extensive expansion in North America and International over the next several years, this team is a crucial component to Extreme Pita’s success.
In 2011, Extreme Brandz won the 2011 Company of the Year Pinnacle award and was ranked on Entrepreneur Magazine’s list of top restaurant franchises.

The people behind our growing success story:
Ken Monteith is the Brand Vice President for Extreme Pita, a division of MTY Food Group. He is accountable for the strategic direction and all operating business functions associated with the brand.
He started his career with McDonalds Canada and he has held senior roles at Purolator Courier, Michel's Baguette French Bakery Cafe, Country Style Food Services and Mr. SUB. Ken also has a training background which lends to his understanding of franchisees and building strong relationships.
Ken is also a seasoned and well respected business executive with strong leadership skills and significant expereince in leading franchise QSR brands.
Erica joined Extreme Brandz in April 2014. She is responsible for steering Extreme Pita’s brand strategy including the development and execution of advertising, promotions, local restaurant marketing, and menu development. Erica is a seasoned food service professional with over 19 years of experience in QSR and FSR in various operations, training and marketing roles. From 2012 to 2014, she worked with Bento Sushi as VP of Marketing & Quality Assurance. From 2009 to 2012 she worked with Threecaf Brands Canada a division of Groupe Le Duff as Senior Director of Marketing for their Canadian bakery and coffee brands.
Lisa has been our Director of Learning and People Development since 2012. From 2007 to 2012, Lisa worked with Prime Restaurants with responsibility for the Learning & Development function for all brands. From 1996-2003 and from 2004-2007 for Cara Operations in a variety of marketing, training and HR roles including responsibility for the corporate succession process and the operational training for Cara’s five restaurant brands. Between 2003 and 2004, she coached with the Canadian national and Olympic team.
Ron joined Extreme Pita in January 2010 as Business Development Consultant. In March 2011, Ron was promoted to National Director of Operations. From January 2009 until December 2009, Ron was an Independent Business Consultant. From March 2002 to March 2009, Ron was a District Manager and Food Safety Instructor with The TDL Group (Tim Horton’s). From February 1996 to March 2002, Ron held various positions at Country Style Food Services, including Regional Marketing Manager, District Manager, and Manager of Information Systems. From 1990 until 1996, Ron was a multi-unit Manager with Taco Bell opening up locations through Eastern Ontario.
